My summer vacation...Part I

So I was on my way to Charleston and we took Amtrak....things did not start off well....first the train was 1 hour late.  Then when we got past Virginia the people who owned the train tracks put out a heat advisory so we couldn't go as fast as we normally would (which is 90mph) because we could derail.

Then we were going along fine and all of a sudden it got dark outside. Come to find out we were coming into a bad storm and our locomotive hit several large trees almost injuring the engineer (the trees we hit busted out the windows but the engineer is ok) and there are trees down on the tracks.

We just learned that the locomotive is damaged to the point where we can't move and we are waiting for a emergency locomotive to arrive to pull us and who knows how long that will take...
What an eventful way to start the trip. I'll keep u posted.

Summer vacation day 2

So after the horrifying ordeal of getting here and getting some rest we got up and headed out to do some shopping at the outlets.  I didn't want to do too much damage because I gotta get the stuff home...  I did find some good deals.  We are going back since I didn't get to all the stores I wanted to.    It's extremely hot and humid in Charleston so I tried to dress as cool as possible (see out of below). Looking forward to day 3, we are going sight seeing and hopefully hitting up some thift shops...till then...

On to the next one....

So I've changed it up again.  While I loved my short hair cut, it was having a full on battle with the summer heat and humidity...and the summer heat won with a TKO (lol).  So I opted for micro braids.  Its a style that I rocked a few years ago when I was trying to grow my hair out (Im always trying and I always end up cutting it off, my hair would probably be down my back now if I would have really grown it out all those years ago...).  I have it at the length I would like to see my hair be, and it is very convenient to maintain my hairstyle even in this weather.  I said to myself that this style would just be a temporary fix for my vacations but who knows....time will tell.... :-)
